when rabbits stop pooping it's almost a sign of something serious going on with the digestive system. GI stasis, or ileus, is when a rabbit's gut slows down, sometimes leading to hair balls (or "woolblock") which can develop bloackages. if your rabbit ever stops pooping he needs to see a rabbbit savvy vet asap. my sister's rabbit died of GI stasis (most likley due to a lack of adequate fiber in his diet).

my hermies love rabbit poo too. they tear those little turds apart. rabbit poo is very nutritous :-P

Rabbits can get constipated and it is lethal for them because it is typically a symptom of something else. They should not go more than a day or two without going....

Ba-Bomb went to the vet on Friday and everything was A-OK Smiley She's pooping her regular little pellets now, and eating as usual. I got her a hay rack so that the hay doesn't get everywhere - will probably have to see about getting an attach-to-cage dish for her pellet food so that she doesn't keep spilling it and playing with the little plate hahaha.

Are toilet paper rolls safe to give her? Just the brown cardboard part.

thats great to hear!

im still trying to find something to hold hay in, i'm thinking about this one. right now i line the front of the litterbox with hay and shove the types she doesn't like to eat in her hidie box so she can dig and lay in it. i also have one of those hanging "veggie balls" with the bell. instead of sticking food in it i put different types of hay in there for variety.

cardboard tubes usually make great toys, but i have heard concerns about certain tubes containing glue. i don't remember which brands have glue. on bunnybytes.com, on the second to last page in their "toy box" section, they sell pet friendly cardboard tubes.

Cool, cool.

The hay rack I ended up getting is just sheet metal, pretty simple. Shaped like a wedge, there's 4 parts you can bend so that it attaches to the outside side of the cage.

My bunny's favorite toy is the frozen plastic mugs we give her (The kind you can pick up at the supermarket with the fluid inside that uyou freeze) she likes them since she can grab them and throw them around like she can't with a water bottle. Plus, it acts as bunny air conditioning.

I'm not really sure what it is, but we've been giving her the same two for about a year and she hasn't even gotten anywhere near chewing through it.
