This is me and my American Saddlebred, Tashi. Unfortunately that was a while ago and I miss her dearly. She was green, and a broodmare that the stable rescued from a slaughterhouse. She was fiesty and high-strung (I have her to thank for stepping on my feet & heels more often than not, as well as my bent ribs)! But she was beautiful and spirited and she was (still is) part of me.

I miss you my Tashi!

Tashi was a beautiful horse. How long did you have her?

Tashi, looks like she was a great horse.  It also sounds like she caused a little bit of pain, but I'm sure she was a lot of fun.  I would love to have a horse sometime down the road.

Beautiful Smiley

I'm leasing a horse right now, she's an appendix mare. Feisty thing, she inherited her mom's warm racehorse blood. She steps on my feet all the time too, nearly broke my toe once Tongue

I want a horse. It's horrible. I can't afford my own keep at the moment, let alone a horse's, but I've got the time, but if I COULD afford it, I probably wouldn't have the time. Rargh.

Try leasing, Rachel - Not sure what prices are like in your area, but we have horses all over the place here, leasing for just $150/month.

I had Tashi for about a year and a half.

Horses are the cause for almost every injury I've ever sustained... Lol!  But boy its sooo worth it.  I currently have a Dun Quarter Horse named Doc... He is a beauty.  He's my ranch rodeo baby!  I learned to ride on him, we are only 2 months apart.  (Were both now 23yo)
He taught be everything I know.  ;-)  No horse ever comes close to your first horse.  Also pictured is my crabby ole mama "Wolfie"... ;-)

I love Doc's look - is he gelded? That stocky "Old World" QH look is hard to come by these days - but definitely the BEST type of Quarter Horse!!
