I need a little bit of support with my 13-day-old foster puppies. They're eating well and active during feeding time, still sleeping whenever not being bothered. But about 36 hours ago I started running into difficulty getting my boys to poop. Pee is fine, normal, and they aren't dehydrated. My tan one Sloth has a tiny turd every like 3rd time I stimulate. The blue one Chunk has not had a bowel movement on his own in the past 36-48 hours. I have been giving him small doses of mineral oil every other meal or so, and we administered a syringe enema this morning. He expelled a moderate amount of normal looking poo when I took his temp approx 6 hours after the enema, but not the blow-out I kind of expected with how much he's been eating! I'm hoping someone can help out, I'm worried sick pretty much. If he doesn't have a good bowel movement soon I'm afraid he will die of toxicity.

I don't have any experience with such young puppies. It sounds like a very stressful time, I hope things will work out for the little guys.

I spoke with several vets across town and they all seemed to agree that as long as he's active and still eating well, I shouldn't worry. Going on 72 hours now without a bowel movement, but in the meantime he's been eating approx 30ml per meal, holding up his own body weight, and opening his eyes. He's also going #1 on his own now. I just don't know what to think...!
