What makes Daffodils toxic?

Daffodils contain lycorine. The Daffodils bulb contains a higher concentration of lycorine than the leaves.

What is lycorine?

Lycorine is a crystalline alkaloid that inhibits protein synthesis.

Signs of poisoning

If you suspect poisoning the symptoms are vomiting, diarrhea, and convulsions. Has the possibility of being lethal in large amounts.
