How much dry food should a kitten eat? I got kittens from someone who said they were around 6 months old. I think they are a little older than that though. How much should I be feeding them? I do not want them to get fat, but I want to make sure they are eating enough.

I've been told that until about a year of age, kittens should be free-fed. Then you need to switch over to adult food and feed 2-3 times daily to keep them from getting fat.

Personally I keep dry kitten food around for my kitten to eat whenever he feels like it, and he gets a spoonful of wet food 3 times a day when the dogs get fed.

It is recommended that you give at least some wet food, I give wet food frequently but my Vet gives her cats a tablespoon of wet food once a day in the morning.
