With the economy bad a women at work came up to me and asked if i could take care of her res for who knows amount of time. Her husband just got laid off and money has become very tight for them. I asked how big it is she said 4inches. She was very desperate. i figured two 4inch res in a 50gallon tub is very tight but it was already in a 20 gallon tank at her house. So i broke down and said yes.

Haha she came today the surprise is on me. It is not a 4inch res or 5 or 6 or 7 or 8 but a 9 inch res. I took it from her but i really shouldnt have it is big. This personally is the biggest res ive ever seen.

Now heres the kicker its only 2 years old going on 3 years old and lays egg. They used to have a male with it and got 2 eggs to hatch. Yea.. she made lunch out of them. The male they gave away last year. I cant imagine 2 turtles in a 20 gallon tank. Yes they had it from a hatchling. What gives i thought it took females 5 years to mature. She fed the thing 3 times a day btw.

Anyway heres pic next to a real 4inch res.

I should have said know but she drove an hour to my house and that thing idk how was in a 20 gallon tank.

This is why you shouldnt get a res they get big!

Wow, her estimations were a bit off I must say, lol. That thing is a beast, maybe her time table is a little bit off too? I don't know, haha. I can't picture that in a 20 gallon tank it must have been a really cramped living space.

I know 20 gallon is really small. She only feed it pellets which worrys me. Thats like eating fried chicken for your whole life. Not very healthy. I feed it only twice a week. She feed them 3 times a day everyday
