Someone on another forum is asking help with a hermit crab and really noone knows mainly cause its a turtle forum X.x

I have a hermit crab attempting to live outside of its shell... its been outside for at least over an hour... its just hanging out in the water dish.... i put even more extra shells in and took the over 2 crabs out..... please explain all of this nonsense to me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Then today- after 24 hours guido is still out of her shell and still alive hanging out

I hate to say it, but the crab will probably die. "Streaking" crabs are generally very sick.

They can offer as many types and sized of shells as they can, boost the humidity, and make sure all their environmental needs are met, and see if that helps.

I actually just lost a crab to streaking a few days ago. He had streaked on and off for a few months, seemed ok for a while, then streaked again and died.

The best thing the owner can do is make the crab as comfortable as possible, give him/her lots of sweet foods (fruits) and any other treats the crabbie likes, and see what happens.
