Last week I watching a Guiness World Record show that featured only animal records. There were numerous pet owners that were there to attempt to break the world records.

One girl came on with a Pygmy horse, I instantly wanted one they are so cute looking. She was trying to set the record for the highest jump by a Pygmy horse. Her horse ended up breaking the jumping record by jumping 2 feet in the air. The Pygmy horse was only 30 inches tall. That is pretty impressive if you ask me.

If I receall correctly, "pygmy" horses are miniature horses effected by the dwarfism gene.

So they are smaller than the miniature horses you posted about earlier. Shocked And I thought those were small horses... Do you know if pygmy horses are affected by any medical problems related to their size? It was something I was wondering about yesterday at work. We had a few hours when things were really slow. If pygmy horses are the same as dwarf mini's, then yes, they have extreme health issues. Joints and respiratory especially. They're actually rather deformed. Many of them will have interestingly unique-shaped legs.

That is saddening to hear. Wow some of those health issues end up being very costly. Then again I'm not sure how those compare to routine horse vet care.
