We have a Condylactis and a Long Tentacle Bubble Tip anemone...

Over time they have changed color. The Condy was bright white with purple tips but now it's always brownish. The Bubble tip was bright beautiful green when we got it but now it's dull and looks brown as well.

We have appropriate lighting. We are feeding them shrimp once a week, plus we supplement the water with phytoplankton, iodine, and calcium. The water quality is excellent. What's going on? Sad

If they are being picked on/at, stung by corals or in a bad place they will turn brown. If they are moving, they are unhappy.

Scrap the saltwater idea. I feel like I should perform a face lift on my tank, instead.

I learned that turning brown is actually a normal and healthy thing. Can't remember why though.

Anyway - eventually our anemones died  Tongue The condylactis was the last to go, and it just detatched and shriveled up into nothing. Nothing in our tank was poisoned... and it just disappeared. Very strange. We were told the condylactis might fade away after a few months, and indeed it did.
